Exciting things have been happening at the studio, first of all we had an amazing article written about us and the studio in the Clarendon Sun here's the link to the article. Click Here. We couldn't be any happier about it! 

Second, we now have the pleasure of carrying some wonderful fine art by local artist, Donn McCrary, from North Myrtle Beach, SC. He is a painter and sculptor whose work is focused on the beauty of movement. Please come by the studio and see some of McCrary's work.

Also starting next week art classes will begin, we are really excited and have plently of spots avaiable so please sign up this week. Now you can pay per week instead of all 5 weeks upfront. Art After Dark will continue this week with us making Lace Slab bowls out of local clay. And Saturday we are doing a mosaic workshop. We have much more exciting events and classes coming in the future so keep checking back for updates.

Classes are starting the week of the 27th so hurry and sign up for your spot now!  We will be having Beginning and Intermediate Pottery Classes, Mosaic, 2D Art, and Children's pottery classes this month.

Also we just received a new shipment of bisque ware today, filled with cute coffee mugs, Anthropologie inspired Berry Baskets and Egg Crates, Heart Shaped Platters, Measuring cup sets and adorable Bird Dishes (perfect for Jewlery trays or spoon rests!)

Get ready to paint like Van Goh on Thursday, January 16th when we will be painting his famous 'Starry Night' masterpiece.  Its only $25 and refreshments will be provided.  Starts at 6pm.

Looking for something to do this week to get you into to holiday spirit? Look no further Olio Studio is hosting an Art After Dark this Thursday, December 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. It is only $25 per person and we will be painting a whimsical, holiday reindeer picture that is sure to put you in the festive mood. Whether you are a beginner or advanced painter or you just like to be social this is perfect for everyone. The canvas is already prepped for each person, so please sign up cause space is limited. Feel free to stop by to check it out and shop or gift shop even if you don't come to paint. If you have any questions please email or call us at Olio Studio. We hope to see you Thursday night!!! Tomorrow is our grand opening and we are super excited to celebrate with everyone!! Its from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and the ribbon cutting will be at 6:00 pm. We will have giveaways and art demos, also you can sign up for our upcoming art events. We have a lot of new paint your own pottery products in and plenty of handmade art for sale. 

Also you can make some great handmade ornaments tomorrow evening with us, so hopefully we will see everyone there!!!

We are currently open and starting next week we will be hosting an Art After Dark event, Paint& Play on Tuesday Nov. 26 7-9pm. Sign up to reserve your spot, space is limited. (E-mail, call or facebook message us!) 

We are steadily coming along with getting the studio finished. Tables are built and in the process of being painted along with the shelves. We are  getting the kiln hooked up next week, along with internet and phone! FINALLY! We still have a lot more to do but thanks to my wonderful family especially my sister Ashleigh, we should be ready to open beginning of November.  Classes will start the middle of November so go ahead and sign up, just email us. I'm in the process of setting up an online payment method for classes, hopefully it will be up on the site next week. 

I'm so excited for this adventure to begin, and the support from everyone is amazing. We are extremely looking forward to all the events we have planned for the holidays,so make sure you keep Olio in mind when you are planning your Christmas list. We will have an entire gift shop of handmade and local art, and we offer paint your own pottery if you would like to make your gift. Also with our upcoming workshops you can do more than just pottery! I will post more info later about those workshops. Today we have made our second trip to Summerville, SC tho get more ceramic supplies and kilns. We are only a few short weeks away from moving in and opening. It has been a tough road so far but its worth all the pain and frustration. The booth we had at the Tobacco Festival this past weekend was a success! We were able to tell a lot of people about Olio and give out information on what we offer. Everyone loved the wheel demos and the jewelry parties. We look forward to opening our doors very soon and sharing this wonderful adventure with new and old friends! Thank you everyone for all your support :)

Today I got an amazing opportunity to talk with a ceramics supply store that is closing their doors soon. We found some great deals on equipment for the studio and can't wait to open so we can get started. Things are going well and I definitely can't wait to go to Ikea to get furniture for the studio. My wish list is a mile long! So far I'm loving bright colors and metal industrial looking furniture. Here are some things that inspire me and some I just can't live without!

Things are coming together quicker than I could have ever imagined. We are working on designing the space and purchasing equipment, we could be open as early as October! The jewelry party last week was a success, everyone had a really good time and made some beautiful necklaces. Everyone made a completely unique and different statement necklace. 

If you are interested in booking a jewelry party, please let us know soon. We also offer many other types of arty parties from mosaics to silk screening t-shirts. An arty party is perfect for someone's birthday, bridal or baby shower. 

Also Olio Studio will be at the Lake City Farmer's Market in the next couple of weeks doing a demonstration of one of the classes we will offer. So please come by and check it out, I will post the date soon. More events will be posted in the next month so keep checking back.

Website is up and running now! Spread the word! Anyways still needs a little work but it will do for now. We have a birthday jewelry party coming up next week that I am super excited about! It's a private party and we will be making statement necklaces and wire cuffs. I will post pictures afterwards and you can start booking your parties now. In August we will be launching a weekly art series "Art After Dark". We will work with a variety of art forms and styles to make a different piece of art each each. This will be in a large group setting where you and your friends can hang out together. Prices will vary week to week but usually it will cost $10-$20 and discounts will be offered.
